Sam is a musician based in Boston, MA. From preschools to coffee shops to senior living communities, he hopes to bring joy through music wherever he goes.

Growing up listening to songwriting giants like Carole King and Bill Withers, Sam Newcomer taught himself guitar in middle school and has been writing and performing songs ever since. Today his sound pulls from many influences, including the folk storytelling of Josh Ritter, the country popcraft of Kasey Musgraves, and the introspective mysticism of Sufjan Stevens.

Music for Sam has always been a beautiful force best shared with other people. Inspired by mentors like his grandmother and high school music teacher, he now passes on his love of music through his work as a children’s musician and senior musical companion. Whether doing a music class through Jammin With You, teaching lessons, performing at a retirement home, or providing senior musical accompaniment, Sam brings the same energy, lightness, and warmth with him. His mission in all these areas is the same - to bring joy and inspire a love of music.

Based in Boston, Sam is currently working on his debut EP, "Homecoming." When not performing, you can find him going to concerts, singing in the Boston Gay Men's Chorus, and visiting the ocean as often as possible.
